Hope. Progress. Fresh Beginning
The Black Butterfly is an all-female band from Quezon City, Philippines. A four-piece alternative/OPM/rock band.
They love to cover a variety of music — ranging from some old songs to some known OPM songs.
The main guitarist (Pamela) and drummer (Jerah) from the
three-piece band "Pocket Rocket" officially created
"The Black Butterfly" in December 2017 and expanded to a
four-piece band as a continuation of the two original members.
After making multiple appearances in the crowd, the band became inactive due to several circumstances. The band was reconstituted today by the guitarist and the original bassist (Almira from “Pocket Rocket”) together with their brand new members, Melissa & Jessica.

The main guitarist and bassist started playing in the band in 2015. And the group has accumulated several appearances
in the crowd. Aside from being invited to private parties and corporate events; they had 11 performances at Revamp Carwash Café, one with Soapdish, Talata & Fiona. They also performed at Selda-Dos, JHK Bistro, Freedom Bar, Sunkiss Grill, The Naked Turtles, Motorista Bar, Aftershift Grill & Restaurant, and Matchbox Yard several times. Numerous
full-set event gigs with several acoustic jams at Hugot Café, Stratos Zenith Bar, Pink Bird, and Chilltop Bar (where the guitarist and previous drummer had regular gigs back then).
As part of their exploration of music beyond gigs and event performances, they entered and took first place in the
Audiophile Eon One Take songwriting competition with their song "Paasa"; Barbie Almalbis served as one of the judges.
As of now — they are currently playing regularly on weekends at Juya's Hub.

… MET•A•MOR•PHO•SIS
In another meaning “a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means.” The band has undergone the process of transformation —but not yet final. Life is a never-ending metamorphosis. It is always changing, always transforming.
"Hard work beats talent", the band made it their mission to continue this legacy. United by a mutual interest in good music,
these four females aimed for these goals in music – to perform, grow, inspire and enjoy music.
